ABOUT

The Adelaide Spectres are Adelaide's premier LGBTQIA+ inclusive basketball club.

OUR STORY

Founded in 2001 under the banner of the SYDNEY Spectres, our first team competed at the 2002 Sydney Gay Games. From those humble beginnings, the Spectres have grown into a respected LGBTQIA+ sporting organisation recognised both in Australia and internationally.

ALL WELCOME. ALWAYS.

The Adelaide Spectres are committed to building a vibrant, inclusive basketball community — welcoming players, referees, coaches, and fans of all skill levels and backgrounds. Whether you’re here to compete, connect, or just enjoy the game, there’s a place for you with us.

TRAIN & PLAY

We run a free weekly Train and Play session open to everyone — whether it’s your first time picking up a basketball or you’re getting back into the game. Come along for a fun, friendly session where you’ll learn new skills, build confidence, and meet great people in a supportive environment.

TOURNAMENTS & SOCIAL EVENTS

The Adelaide Spectres also field teams in local Adelaide basketball leagues, offering structured competition.

Off the court, we host regular social events and get-togethers, so there are plenty of ways to connect, celebrate, and be part of the community — even when you’re not playing.
